Virginia has 24 years of teaching experience, all with middle level age children. She started as a 5th – 8th grade reading teacher at Marty Mission. After getting married, she taught 7th grade reading and English at Kellogg Jr. High, Kellogg, Idaho. In 1986 she and her family moved back to South Dakota where she taught rural school (5-8) and junior high reading, English, and 7th grade social studies for Harding County. For the last 14 years she has been at the Sturgis Middle School teaching 6th grade writing, English, and math. Virginia graduated from BHSC and received her master’s degree from NSU. She is a member of SDAMLE, PDK, MEA, Lookout Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Her husband, Lee, is a Fire Prevention Forester for the government. They have three grown daughters.
