Specifically, the Association will:

• Facilitate and promote an awareness of the uniqueness of middle level education with educators,
  parents, and the communities of South Dakota.
• Facilitate continuing curriculum development, in-service education, school planning, and other
  phases of middle level education.
• Provide leadership in the planning and development of appropriate teachers education programs
  in South Dakota for middle level education.
• Represent the middle level schools in professional and public discussions of educational programs and problems.
• Serve as a clearinghouse for an exchange of ideas, materials, and personnel needed for middle level school improvement.
• Help secure and maintain support of agencies and groups interested in educational development.
• Assist in developing plans for evaluation of middle level schools in South Dakota
